Update, update, update!

As a matter of fact, I’m typing this up on my newly downloaded update of Microsoft Office Word. This seems to be the mantra of our technologically driven lives. We see it in our business lives as well as our private lives, because let’s face it, who doesn’t have at least a computer and a smart phone.

Here at CFP Studio, we have 8 computers on 3 different platforms so you can see what a job that alone is! Mac’s and PC’s…YIKES! We have a lot of overlap on the jobs each computer performs each with specific tasks and programs assigned to a them. PC’s are the ones we need to keep an eye on though.

Mario, who is a one of our great CFP photographers, also wears the hat of “Tech Guy” here. So whenever we hit a glitch the first thing out of our mouth is “MARIO!”.  How he keeps in the know of all the latest and greatest tech stuff we need is beyond me, but it does it with aplomb.

When was the last time you’ve updated your hard drive? Here at CFP studio we know this oh too well, over the years we have swapped out hard drives, increased memory, gotten new monitors, AND have dumped it all to start from scratch. It’s always a painful process but sometimes necessary.

Luckily things have been running very smoothly for the last couple of years and to stay on top of things only involves updates to programs and swapping out modems. Etc.. However, the message here is that we all need to keep on updating.  No matter if it’s up grading hardware of software updates.

Later today I plan on using some newly updated filters in my Photoshop program when I change hats from studio owner/photographer to photo retoucher (I actually enjoy retouching the portraits we create).

On my “To Do” list is to figure out if I’m updating my IPhone to 9.2 … It never ends. What’s on your list?
